With a focus on sustainable development, research at UniLaSalle offers a wide variety of subjects for study in the earth, life, digital and environmental sciences. Each year, the various research units propose several thesis projects in line with these themes.  

By preparing a thesis at UniLaSalle, the doctoral student will carry out his or her project with the support of the recognized expertise and cutting-edge infrastructures of the research units.

To be eligible for a thesis at UniLaSalle, doctoral students must hold a Master 2 degree and register with the doctoral school to which their research unit belongs:

  • The CYCLANN unit collaborates with the doctoral school ED Matière Molécules et Matériaux n° 596 (ED 3M) via the University of Rennes 1 and the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Rennes (ENSCR).

How can I finance my thesis?

Several schemes and grant systems have been set up, at both national and regional levels, to support doctoral training.

The CIFRE (Convention Industrielle de Formation par la Recherche) enables doctoral students to benefit from full funding of their thesis by the company employing them. The doctoral student's time is divided between the company and the host laboratory.

Doctoral students can also finance their thesis with public or private funds:

  • A European grant
  • A grant from a foreign country (for example, in the case of a bilateral Franco-foreign agreement)
  • Ministry grant
  • A regional grant
  • ADEME grant
  • A grant from a foundation, association or local authority
  • Private co-financing
  • A 100% private grant
