Horizon Europe
Horizon Europe is a European program promoting research and development. It was created by the European Union.
It funds resolutely interdisciplinary projects around three priorities:
- scientific excellence;
- industrial leadership;
- societal challenges.
Some programs
Horizon Europe MSCA Doctoral Networks MININGBRINES Project
Funding for 19 doctoral scholarships on understanding the natural processes leading to the presence of resources in geothermal brines, developing environmentally friendly biogeochemical extraction solutions, and using AI algorithms to assess the economic potential and social perception of resource exploitation, led by the GeNumEr unit (UniLaSalle).
INTERREG CASCADE Project
Project date: 2023-2026
The NWE CASCADE project aims to introduce proposals for sustainable biomass management in seven regions of northwestern Europe by implementing biomass-to-biochar conversion chains and creating applicable and sustainable scenarios for other regions.
INTERREG ADAGIO Project
The ADAGIO project aims to create and highlight the impact of a nutritional solution that promotes the development of intestinal mechanisms leading to good digestive health in farm animals, particularly in the France-Wallonia-Flanders region. This research could also lead to the development of dietary supplements for human consumption.
INTERREG THREEC Project
The main challenge of the European Interreg ThreeC project is to promote the development of bio-sourced coal supply chains in a sustainable and climate-friendly manner.
In France, one of ThreeC's challenges is to identify, bring together and then form groups of stakeholders interested in biochar (bio-sourced charcoal) at all levels of the sector:
- biomass producers
- processors (e.g., gasification stakeholders)
- users of charcoal for water and air treatment and agricultural uses
This project aims to develop and introduce economically viable value chains based on the use of biochar from biomass waste in northwestern Europe.
INTERREG BLUEPRINT Project
Dates: 2020-2022
Analysis of household and similar waste management within local authorities by providing quantitative diagnostic data on waste streams and making recommendations on how to optimize management in line with regional circular economy strategies.
BIMGC
Promote the development of the circular economy in the building sector through the implementation of a workshop dedicated to developing criteria and indicators that will serve as a scientific basis for its characterization. The research will focus more specifically on the integration into construction projects of materials or products from short supply chains or from a material cycle extension approach.
MEET
Project date: 01/05/2018 to 31/10/2021
The MEET project aims to encourage the development of improved geothermal systems through demonstration sites in different geological contexts across Europe.
Landmark 2020
Project period: 01/05/2015 to 31/10/2019
Landmark 2020 is a research project on sustainable soil management.
