Design your own robot or carry out an engineering project? The Makerspace makes it possible!

A place dedicated to the realization of projects

Located in the heart of our Amiens campus, the Makerspace is a place entirely dedicated to co-design and prototyping, open to UniLaSalle students and employees.

It's a place for sharing and learning, fully in line with Maker culture and the FabLab philosophy, where knowledge is shared and autonomy encouraged. It facilitates the emergence of innovative projects in the fields of robotics, electronics and engineering.

From a pedagogical point of view, this space simplifies the implementation of academic projects and creates new uses in the training of UniLaSalle Amiens students.

The MakerSpace is made up of several areas open to students and employees, as part of an academic, associative or personal project.

  • MediaLab, dedicated to digital creation, image and sound. It is notably equipped with recording and editing equipment, as well as a 3D scanner, enabling the creation of virtual worlds or simulations for virtual reality headsets.
  • OpenLab: the material-cutting and surface-customization area: laser cutting, vinyl cutting, hot-pressing, image transfer, etc. It is also a training facility for students.
  • PrinterLab: MakerSpace's 3D printing farm. With its dozen printers, the PrinterLab enables the rapid creation of prototypes for academic projects, associations or for practical work. It is also equipped with 3D printers for technical or recycled materials, as well as equipment dedicated to 3D printing post-processing. An integrated workspace enables it to host additive manufacturing courses.
  • ResinLab, dedicated to resin 3D printing. This area benefits from secure access.
  • MecaLab: dedicated to mechanical engineering and prototype design. For security reasons, the MecaLab is limited to 4 people at a time.

A space co-managed by students from the UniMakers association

The UniMakers student association, which brings together robotics and model-making enthusiasts from UniLaSalle Amiens, is involved in the management of MakerSpace.

Its members are trained and empowered to open up the space to students and run the MakerSpace, training students in the use of the equipment.

The association participates in and supports student projects, with the main objective of participating in the Coupe de France de robotique.
