Inauguration of the PARHY collaborative project: ozone at the service of the French cereal industryThe PARHY project (Projet d'Application d'ozone Régulé pour l'HYgiénisation céréalière) is now entering its industrial testing phase at the URAP site in Moislains (80).
Launched in September 2023, this project represents a major step forward in sustainable agriculture.
PARHY aims to develop an innovative technology based on the use of ozone, for the entire French and, potentially, international cereal industry.
"UniLaSalle is one of the world's leading higher education establishments on the ozone issue."

Innovative collaboration
PARHY is the fruit of collaboration between the Stolz consortium, UniLaSalle, La Coopération Agricole des Hauts-de-France and URAP (Unéal, Ternoveo, Cérèsia and Nat'Up). This initiative focuses on grain disinsectisation, minimizing the environmental impact of insect pest control methods in silos. The project responds to the growing demand for transparency and aims to reduce the use of synthetic products, thus promoting sustainable and eco-responsible solutions.
A Strategic Experimentation Phase
Over the next three years, experimentation at the URAP Moislains site will enable large-scale validation of the use of continuous, homogeneous grain treatment using ozone gas in a controlled enclosure. The aim of this operational demonstrator is to guarantee effective grain sanitization without residues of synthetic products, attacking pests such as weevils, sylvans and capuchins at different stages of growth.
A response to the challenges of tomorrow
The PARHY project, supported by the French government as part of the "Innovating for a successful agro-ecological transition" call for projects, has received a total investment of 5 million euros, including 2.8 million euros in subsidies from the "Programme d'investissements d'Avenir et le Plan de Relance" operated by Bpifrance. This initiative will enable the technology to be rolled out nationwide as early as 2026, ensuring effective insect management - a crucial economic issue for the French cereal industry.
An ideal site for experimentation
The Moislains URAP site, located in the heart of the Hauts-de-France region and close to the Canal du Nord and the future Seine-Nord Europe canal, offers optimal geographical and logistical advantages for the PARHY demonstrator experimentation. With a storage capacity of 85,000 tons, the site is equipped to collect, process and ship various types of seeds to the ports of Dunkirk, Rouen and Grand-Anvers.
About the PARHY Consortium
The PARHY consortium brings together seven major players in the French agricultural sector, accredited by the B4C Bio Economy for Change and Vegepolys Valley competitiveness clusters:
STOLZ: Designer and installer of handling and process equipment for the food industry.
UniLaSalle: Polytechnic Institute specializing in agro-resources, technical and agro-industrial sciences, and other relevant fields, with an R&D platform dedicated to ozone applications.
La Coopération Agricole des Hauts-de-France: Representing the region's agricultural and agro-industrial cooperatives.
URAP: Union Régionale Artois Picardie, made up of the Unéal, Cérèsia and Nat'Up cooperatives and the Ternoveo trade.
